This year's Elie Saab Haute Couture 2012 Fall Collection featured a lighter feel, with silk jacquard, lace, and sheer georgette fabrics sporting his signature beads of light.
Aptly named for his rich use of the Byzantine Empire's opulent adornments and embellishments and jewels, the Elie Saab Haute Couture 2012 fall collection was named by Elie, "In Constantinople's Wake". This is very true, as Elie Saab always manages to have the most shimmering, glimmering and sparkling gowns and cocktail dresses out there!
I especially am fond of these softer-hued blue and pink dresses, a welcome relief from so many neutrals.
However, can we moderate the trend toward sheer nakedness a bit? More and more haute couture designs are revealing a bit too much, don't you think? Just a slice of fabric lining.... 1/8 of a yard across the breasts would do nicely, thank-you!
These gold dresses are a perfect example of clean and timeless design, paired
The Elie Saab Haute Couture 2012 collection maintained Elie's reputation for ultra-feminine glamour. Many criticize Elie Saab for being a repetitive patternmaker, and for being a bit too simple. I disagree TOTALLY! He is one of my favorite designers BECAUSE he maintains his emphasis on the rich beading and lavish crystal embroidery! This is what my royal fantasies are made up of!
Elie Saab, may your Haute Couture never stop being the stuff of little girls'
dreams! Every maiden has seen a few too many Walt Disney films, and we do dream of royal romance and glittering, shimmering gowns! You go Elie Saab! What do you think of his taupe wedding gown? I think we should permanently keep this one on our bridal couture page! After all, we insist that the "all-white" wedding gown is just overdone! This pale embellished beauty is like a DREAM COME TRUE!
