For me, the Valentino haute couture Spring 2013 Collection evoked a feeling of fairy-tale romance, a dreamy escape into a world of feminine gowns and ancient royal galas.
Valentino's two designers, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli said that they wanted to evoke "a magic fairytale dream".....and that is exactly what they did.
Mr. Valentino rose to his feet in salute to his two former assistants at the grand finale of the showing. Bravo!
In this haute couture spring 2013, I cannot pick one favorite...we have a tie! Look at these two stunning and Diva-Dramatic "padded rouleaux" designs, just reeking of original exquisite details!
The red "wrought iron gate" effect over tulle makes me wonder what formal rose garden or ancient Roman maze lies beyond those "gates"!
This tulle cape with the embroidered black "ironwork" is commanding, noble and I think breath-taking! The fine artistry in these two just knock me over!
Now, for the romance of lace, the house of Valentino has gone to great lengths to re-embroider these laces to highlight a shimmering and textured effect! How stunning and utterly dreamy!
In my designs I love to bring the flowing femininity of the bygone era to modern relevance!
The royal red silk gown has a unashamed number of genuine
Swarovski crystals on the bodice.
I am a lover of the flow and movement of sheer silk chiffon....it is so dreamy even when just walking forward!
This style with empire waist is so regal
and flattering for most women! It is a constant feature in j-na couture designs.
The flowing silks and laces and new innovation with the technique of
"wrought iron' embroidery truly carry us back to another time period.
The House of Valentino haute couture Spring 2013 has one again re-awakened in us a fantasy of feminine romance and exquisite details with perfect execution!
