CHANEL haute couture 2011 spring/summer review!

The legendary Chanel haute couture house has influenced all true couture fashionistas since she opened her millinery shop in France in 1910.

She has left an indelible mark on the world, inventing true contributions to the fashion world as we now know it....her legacy of original and famous signatures....tlbd..the little black dress..(how could we live without several for each season?) ...the tweed suit...the quilted leather bag...pearls,... gold chains...the double C logo...and the first-ever designer perfume, her Chanel No. 5 created in 1923 and is still, all these decades later, the best-selling fragrance in the world!

Who could protect such a legacy upon the death of Mademoiselle in 1971?

Karl Lagerfeld came on board with Chanel in 1983, and for over 25 years in the position of Creative Director of Chanel, has not only preserved and protected the renown signatures and legacy of Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel, but I believe he has raised her work to new heights of glamour!

He has made the house one of the most profitable and powerful brands in the world!

Now, for the January runway show in Paris, Karl Lagerfeld had the models wear soft-colored, sheer and lighter-than-air fabrics, shimmering with a total of 10 million crystals beads!!!

As his friend Amanda Harlech put it, they looked like "morning dew on spiderwebs".

Can you imagine the hand-beading and time involved! I can! Swarovski crystals are my absolute favorites for my designs! A true labor of love!

Coco inspired me to dedicate a j-na model Treasures wrap in honor of Chanel, whose influence was a motivating factor in learning to sew and knit my own creations as a girl.

Her success was inspirational to me after my accident, as a recently disfigured girl battling for self-esteem and my own identity. She gave me hope, and hope and faith was all I needed!
