2011 Couture Bridal Accessories take us beyond the, "only in white wedding," and help your big day be focused on expression, of who you are as an individual!
By choosing instead very haute couture bridal accessories in dramatic contrasting colors, black with white, or, for the bolder brides, deep red edging on veils and gowns, with high-impact bouquets of velvety deep-red roses, the ultimate in legendary romance, many discriminating modern brides are opting out of the expected and traditional all-over white bridal theme!

Also chic, are couture bridal accessories in accent colors to suit every taste. Now popular are turquoise, coral, yellow, fuchsia or purple, and showing on runways this season, a bold chartreuse (a savvy "green" choice for the eco-conscious bride). Also popular this season are the soft and sheer bridal accessories in slate grey and that dreamy, creamy neutral, latte. Shorter veils are being seen, and one of the hottest wedding trends is the birdcage veil, or blusher veil, as worn by Reese Witherspoon in the movie, "Sweet Home Alabama".

Katerine Heigl and Jessica Alba are some of the celebrity brides who have been seen this trend that has grown and spread in popularity!

A dramatic and very practical trend in couture bridal is a bridal shawl or pretty bolero. For colder weather, many brides prefer wraps of faux fur, heavy satin, pashmina or velvet. Here are some stunning examples from my J-na Couture collection:

For the Spring or Summer bride, wraps should be lighter and airier, in lace or tulle, organza of chiffon. This can reduce sun exposure on exposed arms and shoulders, not to mention protection from chilly breezes. As one of the most practical of bridal accessories, the wrap or bolero is preferred by brides who wish for a more demure or modest look at the ceremony, and it can be shed later for the reception. Here are a few light-weight models of J-na bridal capes and shawls.

Also seen, are pretty satin and bejeweled sashes or belts, which look wonderful with the right gown, especially for those brides blessed with a tiny waist.
As for shoes for that special day...don't get me started!!! Shoes are my absolute weakness...they "call" to me.....(did anyone see that marvelous movie "Shopaholic"?(pics) There are so many amazing styles to choose from...my personal opinion is that with shorter gowns, the shoes are a "Co-star" along with the gown, and are far more important to the complete look than with the longer gown. I would splurge on REAL jewelry with the long gown, but some killer shoes with a short one. Here are some yummy ones:
